Great hospital that clearly focused on improving!
I find the hospital staff are friendly and efficient.
We were asked to take a seat in a clean and pleasant waiting room.
There were greeters at the entrance to the hospital showing members of the public to various departments.
The children's out patients and X-ray units treated us well and were polite and helpful.
There appears to have been a great deal of work done to improve the standard of cleanliness and repair around the hospital.
Love Kingston hospital
Best hospital around
I chose this as the hospital to have both my children even though I live the furthest away that Kingston would accept.
Great hospital. Great staff especially in maternity
I had a wonderful stay at Kingston. I was able to care for myself but was so pleased to see the care given the those that needed it and the time taken to chat and reassure them. Well done Kingston surgical unit.
We have been going to Kingston for over 2 years now as they have been looking after our son and the aftercare has always been excellent.
Excellent service and helpful and pleasant staff
I stayed in their maternity ward for about 10 days. During the time, I found most of the midwives and doctors are very patient and helpful, very professional. Especially the blond lady in their Neonatal Pink Nursery room who seems working on over night shifts, she was very nice and very helpful, efficient, always kept us updated, very professional. Big "Thank You" to her. Also Midwife Aileen was also very cheerful and helped with eveything we needed.
I did have to wait 4 hours for a labour room to become available which was very distressing but other than that i was happy with room although the shower didn't work properly in one of the rooms and above all the care of the midwifes and doctors was absolutely amazing.
I can not fault the care recieved at Kingston Hospital. In relation to midwifery and nursing care my entire experience was 100% excellent.
The only thing I would comment on is that plans change according to which consultant I saw and this was confusing and frightening at times. I felt I needed to be assertive or even pushy when I wanted to stick with the original consultants plan with whom I had built a relationship, was confident with and understood. My wishes were only part listened to against balancing resources on a busy maternity unit which resulted in unnecessary stress and consequences on my body throughout labour.
A largely decent experience was marred by a couple of things. Firstly a lack of communication with my wife in the recovery room as to what was going on with her and our baby in the near future. For example where they would be moved to an why. Because things were not explained properly by the nurse, there was some friction with the sister which was not necessary. Also after reporting that my wife had been sick on her bed sheets, these were not changed.
In the Thameside post natal room, things were much better and the nurses and midwives operating there were very efficient, with a lovely bedside manner.
